2021

The final edition to a long series of non events, forged in the white hot heat of indifference.

2017

A pitch-black, stripped back jazz, dark as a disaster in a diamond mine.

2014

The forth album from Barakuka is the soundtrack to the novel of the same name.

2011

A dark, stripped back, latin Bacchanal from African rhumba to cuban rockabilly.

2008

Souped-up, rickety, turbo slide blues, hot off the steel of some heavy gauge trauma.

2003

Wine addled Americana with a generous heavy dub chaser.

 2017

A collaboration betwixt Barakuka and Emily Scott, a sometimes demure, sometimes wild ride.

2017

This is an album of alternate versions and covers given the classic Barakuka twist and Hullet stomp.

2000

The first in a jamberee bag of Drinking Gospel, Breakbeat Exotica ... Just warming up.

Shangri La

Radio Shangri La

This is Radio Shangri La, broadcasting to you from the Bermuda tri-point area, where time and geography is the stuff of fools. Featuring ramblers, stompers and shakers from the 40s to the 70s, encompassing the Caribbean and beyond.

Each week we shall be featuring selections from the 3rd dimension, with guests of special interest invited to play and discuss four tracks of their choice: something old, something new, something borrowed (a cover), and something blue (their final choice on life’s jukebox).

Welcome to the Barakuka hub, home to the many peculiar outlets of Grahame Hullett:

Musician, Producer, DJ, Author, Promoter and shameless Liar of old Camden Town. This singular hep unit makes for a cavalcade of rum gone caustic rock and roll,

spiced by the calypso, the rumba, the mojo hoodoo of Africa in exile, of the Now

but informed by the Then.

Gnostic Gospel for the frayed but mellow soul.

Listen, if you will, to the Carnival of sound from Barakuka,

read the tawdry tale of Mirrorhead on the mystical Isle of Duende,

tune into the essay of music appreciation that is Radio Shangri La,

see for yourself the celebration of sound and light from the comfort of the video section

and gaze in awe at the gallery of fools.

Yes folks, see this zombie nation through the orange lens of indifference,

a sideways glance at a lost generation when beer is not enough and common decency out of the question.
